2018 U.S. Army Award For Excellence Program Kicks-Off
The U.S. Army Award for Excellence Program is in full swing. Gold Jackets Derrick Brooks, Mike Haynes and Thurman Thomas have helped kick off this year’s programs in Lake City, FL., Fairfield, MT and Palacios, TX.
Next week Gold Jackets Anthony Munoz, Brooks (again) and Tim Brown will host the program in Kentucky, Florida and Texas on April 3rd, 5th and 6th. Look for the live production of each one on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Facebook.
The 25 finalists for the program were announced in February and will each have a Gold Jacket attend an assembly at their high school where they will receive a plaque. They will all attend Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls in August and a special program where the winner will be announced.
More recently, Ryder Meyer was honored and his hometown newspaper wrote this great article about him and the program.
