"The Namath Brace"

Plagued by knee injuries even in college, Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath wore this knee brace during the season prior to Super Bowl III.  Namath underwent four knee operations while with the New York Jets and the brace, designed by Jack Castiglia of the Lenox Hill Brace Shop with the help of noted sports physician Dr. James Nicholas, allowed him to continue playing.

The brace is currently on display in the Hall's Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery.
