LaDainian Tomlinson was selected by the San Diego Chargers with the fifth overall pick of the 2001 NFL Draft. It was an easy choice based on Tomlinson’s exploits at Texas Christian. As a senior, he became just the second player in college football history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season and 5,000 in a career.
