Jersey worn by Seahawks' Williams during record-setting day makes its way to Hall

While describing the positive competition among defensive teammates to become the defensive player of the week during his postgame comments Williams said, “I feel like I came out here today with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder.”
In his effort to achieve that recognition, Williams returned an Aaron Rogers’ interception 92 yards for a “pick-six” near the midway point of the second quarter.
“I rushed the guard as soon as I get hands on him he thinks I’m coming. At the last second I pop out and the ball just happened to be in arm’s reach. I just pretty much stuck my arm out, poked it out and I got a lucky bounce. It went straight up in the air and gave me time to catch it,” Williams said.
“I didn’t expect to get that far with it to be honest. I thought I was running fast but you never know in the moment.”
Williams' stat line during the 26-21 Seahawks victory over the Jets included a blocked extra point and two sacks against his former team. He is now the first player in NFL history to record multiple sacks, an interception-return touchdown and a blocked kick in the same game.
According to ESPN Research, Williams’ interception is the longest by a defensive lineman in NFL History.
Upon being informed of that feat, Williams said, “That’s pretty awesome.”
The Pro Football Hall of Fame received the jersey Williams wore while playing the Jets and has placed it on display in the Hall’s “Pro Football Today Gallery.”
