“Since the launch of Crucial Catch 16 years ago, we’ve seen an increase in awareness of fans understanding their cancer risk and the importance of getting screened early,” NFL Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility Anna Isaacson said in a news release. “As the NFL amplifies cancer awareness through the voices of players, on-field branding and community activations, we are proud to continue our partnership with the American Cancer Society and deepen the impact being made through Crucial Catch.”

“The NFL continues to be a collaborative partner in addressing gaps in cancer screening and encouraging fans to get screened,” added Dr. Karen E. Knudsen, CEO of the American Cancer Society. “Their support allows us to work to improve cancer outcomes through tailored services that address barriers to under-resourced communities. Through Crucial Catch, we’re broadening education and access and ultimately, saving lives.”

During the month of October, NFL coaches wear Crucial Catch sideline attire to bring attention to the program. This season, first-year Chicago Bears offensive assistant–running backs coach Jennifer King wore Crucial Catch apparel, including Nike shoes and a Crucial Catch t-shirt during the Bears' 36-10 victory Oct. 6 over the Carolina Panthers. King is the first female coach in Chicago Bears history and the first African American female assistant position coach in NFL history.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame received King’s shoes and Crucial Catch t-shirt, which features a multi-colored logo representing all cancers, and has placed them on display in the Hall’s “Pro Football Today Gallery.”
